peanut butter cookies The Cookie House

"First, you may recall my mention of The Cookie House earlier this year. Well, after months of anticipation, it is finally slated to open Saturday, July 6, as of print time."

Hello, readers! Welcome back to Business Briefcase. This week is jam packed with plenty of goodies around the West Valley, so keep on reading to hear what’s new!

Although this week will for the most part stick in the realm of sweets, there’s more in store for next week. But that’s then and this is now. Let’s get into it, shall we? Here’s the news!

First, you may recall my mention of The Cookie House earlier this year. Well, after months of anticipation, it is finally slated to open Saturday, July 6, as of print time. Be sure to verify before checking it out at 18255 N. 83rd Avenue, Suite 101, off 83rd Avenue, west of Loop 101. The strictly-cookie shop will focus on classic and hand-decorated, custom sugar cookies for any occasion. Eventual workshops and events are in store, too. Hours are slated for 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The shop will be closed Mondays. For more information, visit thecookiehouseaz.com, or find it on Facebook and Instagram @thecookiehouseaz.

Next, stop by this new tea and coffee shop and say “aloha.” Aloha Tea & Coffee is now open at 6766 W. Glendale Avenue, Suite 140, northwest of Glendale and 67th avenues. From fruit tea to milk tea, macchiato tea, iced coffee and other caffeinated beverages, there are many choices. For more information, find it on Facebook @alohateacoffee.

Continuing, this next one is on the edge of Peoria, but still worth a mention. Churroholic, “The Churro Destination,” under parent company Hiccups Restaurant and Teahouse, is open at 9340 W. Northern Avenue, in the Peoria Crossings shopping center, but right near Glendale. This is northwest of Northern and 91st avenues. From ice cream-related drinks to churros in a variety of formats, like breakfast bites, sandwiches, sundaes and more, those with a sweet tooth should be able to find something with which to be enthralled. Also available are beverages such as milkshakes; hot, iced and blended coffee drinks; milk teas and more.

It is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday through Sunday. For more information, visit churroholic.com or hiccupsteahouse.com, or call 623-321-5188. This location can also be found on Facebook @churroholic-hiccups-peoria-222547232027102.

Also notable, the franchise is slated for a Glendale location at 5262 W. Bell Road, Suite 120, sometime in the future, according to its website. Stay tuned!

Finally, the Glendale Chamber of Commerce’s marketing committee will soon host an event on how to build a business using LinkedIn. This includes three key areas of business growth: influence, relationship building and lead generation. The seminar will cover how to grow a business reliably, consistently and in a cost-effective manner. Digital marketing company Sinova Solutions owner Tom Bukacek will lead the course. The event will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, though check-ins will begin at 11:30 a.m. Lunch and light refreshments will be provided. Attendance is free for chamber members, but $60 for interested future members. Seating is limited, so only one representative per company may attend. Reservations are required. It will be in the Glendale Chamber’s BNC National Bank Conference Room, 5800 W. Glenn Drive, Suite 275. For more information, contact Jeanette Gomez at 623-937-4754 or jgomez@glendaleazchamber.org.

That’s all the briefs for this week. Thanks for reading!
