Shough will replace Shawn Duguid, who was appointed as the district’s chief operations, safety and risk management officer. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Grand Canyon University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University.

Shough is currently principal of Cheyenne, but will be replaced by Slater, the school’s current assistant principal. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from Arizona State University and a master’s degree in administration and leadership from Arizona State University.

Little will replace Angela Gomez as director of federal programs. Gomez will assume an assistant principal role at a school site. Little has been with Peoria Unified since 2001, having served as principal of Desert Harbor Elementary and assistant principal of Sundance Elementary.

She has a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from the University of South Florida and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University.

Little most recently served as the principal at Frontier Elementary, where she has been since 2014. That position will now be filled by Stutesman, a Peoria Unified employee since 1989. He has served as a teacher at Cotton Boll Elementary, and assistant principal.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Arizona State University as well as a post-baccalaureate certificate in elementary education. Continuing his education, he earned a master’s degree in 1996 and an administrative endorsement in 2005.

Stutesman will leave behind his position as principal of Paseo Verde Elementary. He has been in that role since 2016. Reese, the school’s assistant principal since 2014, will take his role. She has served in previous roles of teacher, achievement advisor and principal within other districts.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Northern Arizona University and a master’s degree in educational leadership and counseling/human relations from Northern Arizona University.
