A man remains in the hospital in stable condition after Glendale and Phoenix fire crews rescued him from an apartment fire the morning of June 6.
Crews quickly made a search of the small apartment while the fire raged and found the man in respiratory distress. He was extracted from the apartment and transferred to a crew standing by to render medical treatment. He then went into respiratory arrest and was transported to the hospital for further treatment.
While the man received aid, the remaining crews battled the blaze. No other injuries were reported, civilian or otherwise. And the fire was contained.
The cause is still under investigation.
As of print, the man is in stable condition, showing signs of improvement, yet remains intubated to protect his airway.
