Workers put the finishing touches on the outside of the new Twin Peaks restaurant at Westgate.

Following months of delays, Twin Peaks opened its third Arizona location June 4 at Westgate in Glendale.

“We were constantly being asked from our guests (at two other Arizona locations) when we were coming to the West Valley,” Carolyn Vangelos, owner/franchisee of Twin Peaks Arizona, said. “We looked at Goodyear, Avondale and Litchfield but we just thought this entertainment district was a great location.”
Twin Peaks Glendale hopes to deliver what locals have yearned for in a sports restaurant, including high-quality comfort food and an extensive selection of 29-degree draft beer served from two full-service bars. Vangelos also pointed to the bold hunting lodge atmosphere punctuated by 91 high-definition plasma televisions, a lively patio and the renowned Twin Peaks waitresses.
“We have a television in each booth as well as the restrooms and our patio, which includes a complete mister system as well as fire pit and heaters for the winter,” Vangelos said. “Twin Peaks is known for their audio-visual items, the Twin Peaks girls and of course the 29-degree beers that are served in our beer mugs that come out of our chillers that are at zero to negative 10 degrees to ensure you get the coldest beer experience.”
The Glendale location has 32 beer selections with local choices, including San Tan Brewery.
“We will have a wide selection of craft beers, including some from Arizona, California and Colorado on tap,” Vangelos said.
At just short of 7,000 square feet of space, the new Glendale restaurant is the chain’s 82nd eatery nationwide and Vangelos said it is more than a “breastaurant,” or restaurant that has skimpily-dressed female waiting staff.
“We are meticulous on the aspects of services and our girls have to learn specific ways of service and attentiveness,” Vangelos said. “They have intense training and have to know all our beers, liquors and we are sticklers on our service to our customers. We do not want our girls slinging out a customer’s food and say enjoy your meal and then not be seen for 20 minutes.”
Vangelos said, with all the extras at the restaurant, its focus is going to be the food and experience. The menu will offer bar food such as buffalo wings, fried pickles and mozzarella sticks to meals that include pot roast, hamburgers and chicken-fried steak.
“Our billionaire bacon burger has our bacon, which is made in house, that is sweet and spicy with sriracha pimento cheese that is a big crowd pleaser,” she said. “Mom’s pot roast and our wings are also hugely popular and people have been really excited about how they taste and have been very popular.”
The new restaurant created 118 new jobs, with more expected during the football and hockey seasons for the expected large crowds Vangelos said are typical at the other two locations in Scottsdale and Phoenix.
“We had 118 new employees here during our orientation and I believe that is just summer when we open,” she said. “We will ramp that up again in August when we get into football season. What we are expecting is that everyone, even those that are not Cardinals fans, which we are, can come here and see their games, so we will need more employees and are banking on that.”
When asked how Twin Peaks is different from other restaurants in the area, Vangelos said, “I think I can appreciate people’s perception of (Twin Peaks), but once we get you in here, let us wow you with our service, let us delight you with our freezing cold draft beer, and I believe we will win you over. We have multiple families that come into our other locations and we are so excited to come to the West Valley and build our brand.”
