Focus on affordable health care
It was interesting to see the Congressional Budget Office (nonpartisan) come out with an analysis of Medicare for All this week. The report said it would create longer wait times and reduce people’s access to care. They don’t even tackle the cost angle, because it’s impossible to predict how much it will cost us in tax dollars. I know the Democrats running for president need to hang their hats on major policy changes, but maybe they should all fight for improving the Affordable Care Act instead and getting more folks insurance coverage that’s affordable. It’s how moderates like Kyrsten Sinema won their seats, and it can be how Democrats improve the lives of the everyday American.
