The 5th annual Brelby Miscast Concert

Shows are 7:30 p.m. Aug. 10 and 11

The fifth annual Brelby Miscast Concert is an evening of musical numbers and scenes where performers are given the opportunity to shine in roles that are outside typical casting bias. Theater goers might see a sweet ingenue take on a villainous role, or a stunning ballad from someone who is typically seen in the ensemble. The mixed up performance is a chance to see artists shine in an unexpected way.

Space 55 and Brelby Theatre Co. are partnering to produce:

Playing Games

by Brian Maticic

8 p.m. Aug. 10, 11, 17 and 18, and 2 p.m. Aug. 12 and 19

“A play about life, love, and all of the sarcasm in between.”

Mel and Bryson keep their marriage alive in a unique way. Matt is pulled into their twisted games, and finds himself falling in love with Mel’s sister, Liz. Unfortunately for him, the family has a past that won’t stay hidden for long.

Return to Rosie’s Pub

Written by Shelby Maticic, Jen Gantwerker and Jessie Tully, with contributions from Karson Cook, Micky Small and Chelsea Jauregui.

Shows are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Aug. 24, 25 and 31, and Sept. 1, 7, 8, 14 and 15, as well as 2 p.m. Aug. 26 and Sept. 2 and 9.

In “Return to Rosie’s Pub,” audiences will be invited back to experience the magic of Rosie the Riveter’s pub, existing somewhere outside the conventions of time and reality. Rosie’s Pub is frequented by a medley of female revolutionaries from throughout history. As they take the stage for an unconventional open mic night, they tell their stories through song, poetry and narratives. Their individual histories weave together, and allow them to pose questions about today’s world. It's history like you’ve never heard it before, and these women have a lot to say.
