The Rose Society of Glendale will host its 30th annual Rose Show 1 to 4 p.m. April 7 at Sahuaro Ranch Park, 9802 N. 59th Ave., in the Fruit Packing Shed. A “Growing Roses in Arizona” seminar will be presented 2 to 3 p.m.
The society is a family-oriented volunteer group affiliated with the American Rose Society. The ARS and its local societies are educational, nonprofit organizations dedicated exclusively to the cultivation and enjoyment of roses. The Rose Society of Glendale hosts an annual rose show with participation from the local members from all of the societies in Arizona. Members enjoy the thrill of exhibiting their roses in competition with other rose lovers. Competition categories include Horticulture (roses only), Arrangement (arrangements of roses depicting a specific theme for each category) and Photography (photographs of roses, rose arrangements and rose gardens).
