Smoke’s Poutinerie, the “World’s Largest and Original Poutinerie,” will open at Gila River Arena Oct. 10, just in time for the start of the 2015-2016 NHL hockey season with the Arizona Coyotes.

The restaurant is in Plaza Concourse Section 119 of the arena.

Poutine, also known as loaded fries in the United States, is a Quebec-born favorite mix of fries and cheese curds, covered in gravy.

Smoke’s offers 30 varieties of Poutine, including a Chili Cheesesteak Poutine with flat iron steak, homemade chili and cheese sauce and a Double Pork Poutine with chipotle pulled pork and double-smoked bacon, as well as multiple vegetarian options.

Smoke’s Poutinerie’s global headquarters are in Ajax, Ontario – a suburb of Toronto. The first Smoke’s Poutinerie location six years ago was in Toronto.

Smoke’s has a strategy in place to open 800 locations in the U.S. in the next five years, first on the West Coast and soon in the Northeast and upper Midwest regions.

Smoke’s Poutinerie has more than 100 locations in Canada.

Of the 1,300 locations opening worldwide in the next five years, 725 are going to be non-traditional stores, such as within arenas, stadiums, colleges, universities, transportation centers, movie theaters, casinos and more.
