Hours after a Jan. 3 shooting left a 19-year-old dead, Peoria police officers arrested David Sanchez, of Peoria.
Sanchez, also 19, was processed at the Peoria Police Department and later booked into the Maricopa County Jail for first-degree murder.
He is charged with killing Nathaniel D. Fowler.
The fatal shooting took place before 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, near 8000 N. 87th Drive.
The shooting location is near Peoria Crossings on Northern and 91st avenues and less than a mile from Raymond S. Kellis High School in north Glendale.
A 911 caller reported hearing an argument and gunshots.
Responding officers found a man down in the street with apparent gunshot wounds.
The man died at the scene, said Amanda Gaines of the Peoria Police Department.
“Officers were able to identify a house nearby that the suspect or suspects entered and were eventually able to detain multiple individuals,” Gaines said.
“This incident appears to be isolated between these individuals who appear to be known to each other and there are no outstanding suspects.”
She said detectives are investigating the fatal shooting and urge anyone who may have information to call the Peoria Police Department at 623-773-8311.
In his booking information, Sanchez is listed as being 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing 135 pounds.
