Chewy and shelter advocate Lee Asher have partnered with shelters across the nation to help animals their forever homes. Dedicated to improving the lives and well-being of pets, Chewy is donating more than $1 million in essentials resources and supplies.
With the holiday season doubling as the busiest time for adoptions, Chewy hopes to raise awareness of shelter animals in need and inspire adoptions in Arizona and throughout the country.
The multistate initiative kicked off in the Valley, when Chewy traveled to more than 20 shelters in four days, including Sun Valley Animal Shelter, AZ Golden Rescue and Saving Paws Rescue, all of which are in Glendale; and Sun Cities 4 Paws Rescue in Peoria. The shelters were chosen by Chewy and Asher’s fans on social media. Other shelters were in Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe, Gilbert, Paradise Valley and Phoenix.
At each stop, Chewy provided beds, toys, food and treats. Asher joined several shelter stops and cohosted Arizona Animal Welfare League & SPCA’s adoption event at Walter Station Brewery on Oct. 11.
Chewy has a fulfillment center in Goodyear and is dedicated to supporting the local pet community in Arizona.
