Road-e-o competition Glendale

Road-e-o competition in Glendale challenged solid waste drivers on obstacle courses.

The city of Glendale Landfill hosted the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) International Road-e-o competition Oct. 25.

More than 100 of the nation’s top landfill equipment operators and solid waste truck drivers competed on obstacle courses, taking big rigs on tight turns and through confined spaces.

Mechanics were given troubleshooting scenarios to test their skills and abilities.

Robert Ruiz (compactor) and Charles Margelot (bulldozer) of the city of Glendale took first place in the state competition in March. They represented Glendale at the Oct. 25 event.
