Auditions for Brelby’s production of “Much Ado About Nothing” will run 9 a.m. to noon July 28 and 29. Auditioners should prepare one monologue in verse and another in prose, no more than two minutes total. Emails should be sent to to reserve an audition slot. Some characters may end up being doubled, and the theater is open to and interested in non-traditional casting. Casting agents say they hope to see artists of all backgrounds, sizes, and experience levels go out to show their craft.

Directed by Dan and Amanda Trombley, William Shakespeare’s comedy “Much Ado About Nothing” focuses on a group of soldiers returning from a war. The world-weary Benedick and his friend Claudio find themselves reacquainted with Beatrice and Hero. As memories of conflict give way to a life of parties and masked balls, Claudio and Hero fall madly, deeply in love, while Benedick and Beatrice reignite their own altogether more combative courtship.

Performances of the play will be held Nov. 9 through 18 at Brelby Theatre Co., 7154 N. 58th Drive.
