Glendale’s Community Services Department and Dave & Buster’s recently honored the Rev. Mario Leyvas of Palm Valley Church as an outstanding member of the community at a networking event in Glendale.
Leyvas and members of the church have been involved with the city’s Community Volunteer Program for the past year, adopting two streets, as well as becoming a partner with the Partners N Parks program by adopting Sycamore Grove Park. In addition, the church has participated in several of the city’s annual volunteer projects.
As a result of working with Leyvas and the church over the past year, Neighborhood Services Program Manager Michelle Yates nominated Leyvas and the church.
“Their dedication and volunteer service make a huge impact in our Glendale community, and I am very excited for the future of this partnership,” Yates said.
Dave & Buster’s, located at Westgate, holds a bi-monthly “Good Neighbor” networking event, honoring members of the community who give back and have a selfless compassion for Glendale and the community overall. The program was created more than a year ago and has recognized many community partners during that time.
