Glendale Police arrested a man for trespassing, then found he was wanted for military desertion.

On Oct. 17, Glendale Police officers responded to a report of trespassing in the 5600 block of North 46th  Avenue. Police found Francisco Vargas, 19, who admitted he had been in the residence, said Jay O’Neill, spokesman for the Glendale Police

“It was discovered that property inside had been moved,” O’Neill said.

“Upon completing a records check of Vargas, it was determined that he had a warrant for military desertion.”

Vargas was booked for second-degree burglary.

Vargas made an initial appearance at Maricopa County Superior Court Oct. 18. He was due to be back in court Thursday, Oct. 31. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 1.

Vargas is represented by a public defender.
