Members of the League of Women Voters of Northwest Maricopa County will discuss the United Nations Report on climate change and plastic pollution at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2
Darnell Kirksey and Becky Sayler – chair of the committee and a league member, respectively – will take questions and discuss the issues from the report at the Universalist Unitarian Church at 17450 Avenue of the Arts, Surprise
Sayler is set to speak about the impact plastic has on the environment, through global warming, air, land, water, and wildlife just to name a few. She will also provide tips to the audience about how they can use less plastic and reduce their personal damage and carbon footprint.
Kirksey is a retired educator and has many years studying and teaching about climate change issues. She works on several environmentally-friendly groups, including the League and the Audubon Society.
