The city of Glendale recently launched SmartGov, a portal for local businesses.

The portal allows for an online and socially distanced option to apply for and renew local business licenses. Glendale is proud to add this new option to its list of tech-forward services for  residents, businesses and visitors alike. 

“I have had a lot of experience with business licensing and am very excited for this new and infinitely  better process,” said Yvonne Knaack, a Downtown Glendale business owner. “It takes most human error out and educates on the regulations and requirements in an orderly and  precise manner. I encourage businesses to utilize this portal to build successful and compliant enterprises.”

SmartGov promises to speed up the transaction process for new and  existing businesses. However, for businesses interested in a less digital experience, local business licenses can still be applied for at the Glendale City Hall, 5850 W. Glendale Avenue. 

Applying for or renewing a business license requires creating an online account  in the city of Glendale’s SmartGov portal. Established businesses will use an access code supplied by the city of Glendale to link the new online account to their existing license.
