In our secular culture, we can absolutize any value we want. The rage in the liberal community over Dr. Ben Carson’s freedom to speak his mind and personal opinions about life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness challenges the ideology of “the plantation mentality” promoted by progressives to maintain political power.
Carson does not fit the liberal paradigm of a serious “Black man.” So, Black tribal chiefs are having fits. Just as they did when Justice Clarence Thomas was nominated to the Supreme Court.
Carson will speak 7:30 p.m. May 7 at Sheraton Phoenix Downtown, 340 N. 3rd St., as guest of “2013 CAP Family Dinner.” Plan to hear for yourself what this great surgeon has to say about our economically ravaged community. See you there.
